What CleanTheme does
CleanTheme provides a read-only Shopify theme scan and reporting tool. It helps merchants review active theme files for possible leftover app code, tracking code, app snippets, old app comments, and theme cleanup indicators.
CleanTheme may provide:

- File paths
- Line numbers
- Code snippets
- Plain-English explanations
- Developer review suggestions
- Exportable reports
- Copyable scan summaries
Review-only tool
CleanTheme findings are review flags only.
A finding does not automatically mean that code is broken, unsafe, unused, or should be removed. Before removing or editing any theme code, you should verify whether the related app, script, snippet, or integration is still active and intentionally used.
No automatic cleanup
CleanTheme does not automatically remove, edit, delete, or publish theme files. Any manual code changes are the responsibility of the merchant, developer, freelancer, or agency performing the work.
Backups and developer review
Before making any manual theme changes, you should duplicate or back up your Shopify theme and ask a qualified developer to review the findings. CleanTheme reports are designed to support developer review, not replace professional judgment.
Availability and accuracy
CleanTheme is provided as a best-effort review and reporting tool. The app may not detect every possible cleanup issue, and some findings may be normal or intentionally used code. Results should be reviewed carefully before any changes are made.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse CleanTheme, attempt to disrupt the service, reverse engineer protected parts of the app, or use CleanTheme in a way that violates Shopify policies or applicable laws.
